This blog was previously known as A Common Man. Why the change you ask?
Simple. I am a conservative. I am a conservative who is annoyed with the way the Republican Party is running itself. I vote on the conservative line here in NY to let the State Republican Party that we need to be more conservative here in NY. I do the same in national elections for the same reason. But I wanted to do more.
So, on the off chance that members of the Republican Party are cruising through these blogs I wanted to catch their attention. Why? For the same reason I vote the conservative line. I want them to know that the principles of conservatism are important to the regular people. As part of the principles of conservatism is a strict interpretation of our founding documents, I have taken the name that Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay used when making a case to the public for the ratification of the constitution. So just as they signed each of their editorials, so shall I sign my blog.
Call me Publius. I hope I can live up to the standards of Messrs Hamilton, Madison and Jay. I hope that the people who read this blog like what they read. I hope I get feedback and I hope the feedback causes debate. For without ideas and honest debate, we will never bring about the changes necessary to reclaim the birthright presented to us by the founding fathers. I welcome all to my blog, Republicans (Conservative, Moderate and Liberal), Democrats (Blue Dog and anyone else who is reasonable), independents, and all other interested parties.
